Extended School Day/School Violence Prevention Program
The primary purpose for these funds is to support the efforts of school districts with high needs to bring all students to the higher learning standards that have been established by the Board of Regents. Through tutoring in the areas of reading, math and science, the academic performance of participating children can be improved. Participation in recreation, art, music, drama, student leadership development and community service give children the opportunity to develop positive social skills, including conflict resolution strategies. After-school programs keep students of all ages safe and out of trouble.

NYSED has a new ESD/SVP site! Visit www.emsc.nysed.gov/sss/extendedlearningopps/esd-svp
